Design inspiration from waterside homes
"Water provides a sense of calm and serenity for those who live close to it," says Megan Townsend in this excellent article about some wonderful homes built near water.
The photograph here is of the "Exbury Egg". It was created by PAD studio, SPUD group and Stephen Turner, and it's a low-impact wooden home currently residing in the Beaulieu Estuary in Hampshire.
The Egg is featured in a wonderful book called Living on Water, a nice source of design ideas for your next project perhaps.
Any permanent new building will, of course, need to be approved by the local authorities, so if you need advice on getting planning permission, then you can contact us for a chat.
